Volunteer Opportunities
During the year there are a number of ways to meet the 10 hour per
family volunteer requirement. Most parents enjoy working in the
classroom. Once you attend a Volunteer Orientation Class and have a
background screening you may sign up to work in a classroom.
Volunteer hours are also available for coming to Parent Education
Nights, Parenting Skill Update classes, becoming an Art Docent,
helping with a fund raiser or a school service project. For parents
unable to assist in the class, ask your child's teacher for ideas on
take home or school grounds maintenance projects. Volunteer hours
are recorded on a special sheet and located near the classroom door.
Once you have fulfilled the volunteer requirement you are encouraged
to continue assisting in your child's classroom but no longer need
to record your time.
