What is your policy on picking up my child after you have closed?
If it is an emergency situation and a parent is unable to pick up their
child by 6:15 the Head of School or other assigned person will be called
out to take the place of the After School staff member and stay with
your child until you safely arrive.
Normal day to day operation:
Our policy is simple. While we understand an occasional late pick up may
be unavoidable, please do not take advantage of us.
We are firmly committed to our school closing at 6:00 p.m. Our
staff have family obligations to meet and need you to pick up your child
on time.
What happens if I’m late?
If you are late you will find our after hour service to be expensive.
Your first late pick up (if you call) is $10 every 10 minutes.
The charge is billed in 10 minutes increments.
The second late pick up during the school year is $25 every 10 minutes
and must be paid at the time of the infraction.
For example arriving 15 minutes late on a second infraction would
result in a
$50 late fee.
($25 for the first 10 minute increment and $25 for the second 10 minute
increment) Billing for
time of late sign out may be based on either parent sign out or staff
records or both.
An egregious infraction or repeated late pick up may result in additional consequences such as an immediate suspension of extended care privileges for the remainder of the month or the school year. A decision to suspend service will be given to you in writing. It may be appealed to a school administrator but final judgment regarding reinstatement is at the sole discretion of the Head of School.
If you know in advance that you will not be able to consistently honor
our stated closing time of 6:00 p.m., we will be glad to assist you in
finding a more suitable option for after school care.
Typical After School Schedule
- 3:40-4:00 Snack
- 4:00-4:30 Recess
- 4:30-5:10 Planned project (e.g. game, arts & crafts,etc.)
- 5:10-5:35 Free choice/ low structured activity: Legos, reading, coloring, computer, etc.
- 5:35-5:50 Wrap up time, prepare room for next day
- 5:50-5:55 Closing Procedures
We offer extended care both before school and after school to currently enrolled students. We use a flat rate payment system as a way of simplifying what we offer.
Extended Care Program
Enrollment required for either AM or PM programs
Before School Care available from 7:00-8:30 is $1100 for the
school year payable in one lump sum or 10 payments of $110.
*If a child is starting use of the Extended Care program mid year, the
amount due is based on the remaining school days and will be calculated
by the office.
After School Care available from 3:30-6:00 is $2000 for the school year (10 payments of $200)
AM&PM Extended care programs combined for the calendar school year is
$2950. (10 payments of $295)
After School Care with pickup by 4:30 is $1000 for the school year (10 payments of $100)
Flat Rate Fees For Emergency/Occasional/Part Time Users
Because our extended care has limited spots available, guaranteed
placement in our extended care program is reserved for full time users.
We are able to offer 2 spots before school and 2 spots after school for
occasional users or last minute drop in. To secure one of the two
spots please sign up on the Occasional Use Calendar that is posted prior
to the start of the month. To insure access for families, there is
a maximum of 2 times per week per student sign up.
Emergency/Occasional Use Fees
Before School Care is a flat fee of $9 per time
After School Care is a flat fee of $14 per time.
If you pick your child up by 4:30 you would receive a discount of $6.00. No
other discounts apply. Statements are sent out quarterly. (See
Less than Full Time policy below for additional details)
Early Dismissal Days (conferences, holiday dismissal)
Available between 12:00-3:30 on early dismissal days. ($6 per hr.)
Following Early Dismissal Care, After Care is available from 3:30-6:00.
Occasional Late pick up after class
To assist the occasional late parent after school care until 4:00 is $5.00.
School Holiday Clubhouse Care
Offered by advanced sign up only. Minimum number of students needed to
offer Club House Care on non school days. $45 flat rate. Available between the hours of 7:30-5:30.
Deadline for sign up is posted on the sign up sheet. The minimum
number of students that need to sign up is 6. In the unfortunate
event we do not meet the minimum to be able to offer Club House Care, we
will post that it has been canceled. There is NO penalty for canceling
up to the deadline. After the posted deadline you are responsible
for the full fee even if your child is absent or comes for only part of
the day.
Less than full time use of extended care
Our Before/After School Care program is designed to enroll a
limited number of full time users. Our school's priority policy allows
space in our extended care program in the following order when a request
is made: 1) Full time use of Before or After School Care
three or more days per week. 2) Full time use of After School Care up to
4:30 three or more days per week . 3) Part time or occasional use.
If you are using our program three or more days per week your child is
using a full time space and will require registration in our extended
care program to guarantee a spot will be held open for your child. The
rates for using Before or After Care three or more days a week are shown
above. For example using Before School Care 3 or more days per week from
the start of school your yearly cost is $1100.00 and guarantees the spot
held open for your child in our extended care program. You may pay this
in one lump sum or make equal installments towards the total amount due.
It is not based on a monthly fee.
If in the above example you have been using extended care 3 days one week
and 2 days the next, your child is enrolled in our program as a full
time user and will be invoiced the full time rate. The space is not
given away to another family if your child misses a day or two but
rather is held for their exclusive use.
Currently we try to leave open 2 drop in spots for part time users in the morning and
2 drop in spots for part time users in the afternoon. The availability of these spots may change as more families request or pay for full time user status. If space is temporarily granted for an occasional part time user it is with the understanding that they may get bumped from their space without notice if a full time user claims the spot
the following month.(see school's priority policy). Once you put your name on the part time/occasional user sign up sheet you lock the spot for that date. You will be invoiced for that date whether or not your child attends.
The sign up sheet to secure a particular day as a part time/occasional user is located on the Parent Bulletin Board next to the phone in Room A4. If the day you want has been taken by another family, you may want to consider switching to full time user status for a guaranteed spot or begin exploring alternatives for before or after school care.
Credit for After School Enrichment Classes
If your child is a full time user of After School Care and is
participating in one or more of our After School Enrichment classes from
3:30-4:30, you will be given a credit of $4 per class session. The
credit will show up as a separate line item on your invoice.
Additional documents related to Extended Care
Additional documents related to Extended Care including the school's
sick policy, allergies, medicine, emergency contingency plans, max
hours, safety training, etc. are available in the office or are
posted on the Parent Bulletin Board by the office. You may also
request to see the latest copy of any State Inspection.
State Agency reimbursement of Extended Care
It is a financial policy of our school not to accept preschool age
students whose tuition or extended care is billed to a state agency.
